Gay Friendly Travel Guide to Madrid Spain
Madrid is Spain's stunning capital city - located bang in the middle of the country, 646 meters above sea level.
This cosmopolitan city is primarily concerned with business, banking, commerce etc. But it is also a popular place for tourists.
Madrid has a fascinating history; fabulous architecture; wonderful parks, galleries, museums, restaurants, and incredible shopping.

weather here is almost unbearably hot in summer (air-conditioning is essential) and cold in winter - especially at night.
Madrid is not an "outdoor city" but there is enough on offer indoors for this not to matter.

Gay Madrid
The main gay area in Madrid is called Chueca (pronounced choo-eh-ka) in the Old Quarter of the city.
Madrid has a lively, seriously raunchy gay scene - aimed primarily at hard working, hard playing residents of the city.
You don't have to live here to join in - but don't expect much foreplay! Madrid is a hard-core city in every respect!
Visitors are extremely welcome - but Madrid men work hard and play harder - and you will be expected to play by THEIR rules!
Cruising in Madrid
The best cruising areas are...
Parque del Retiro - especially the gardens surrounding the fallen angel.
Parque Casa de Campo - Night-time cruising area - Loaded with gay guys looking for sex.
Look for men standing beside their cars and giving you the eye - but
watch out, some of them are prostitutes and will want money.
Manzanares River - The banks of the river are popular cruising grounds, day and night.

Madrid Gay Bars & Clubs
Copper Bar - Leather, jeans, military, naked. Great place - but not for the faint-hearted.
Black & White - big bar (two floors) strippers, very popular.
Cruising - Serious cruising bar. Hard-core videos. Dark room.
Eagle Madrid - Leather bar with darkroom and sling.
Enfrente - Looks like a pub - but it's really a pretty good bear bar.
Truco - Gay & lesbian bar. Good place to start your night.
El Retiro, is a large park at the city centre, very close to the Prado Museum. It is also one of the main
gay cruising spots in Madrid, especially around the
Fallen Angel statue (pictured left).
Maybe it's a co-incidence, but this is the said to be only statue in the world dedicated to The Devil.
